Young City goalkeeper Jed Steer was linked to another Premiership club yesterday with reports that Manchester City were tracking the progress of the 16-year-old.

One Sunday newspaper claimed that the richest club in world football were locked in a head-to-head battle with Chelsea to try to sign the youngster. Chelsea are already reported to have lined up a £250,000 offer for England Under-16 international Steer.
