Norwich City striker Josip Drmic has been named in the Switzerland squad for their upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Denmark and the Republic of Ireland respectively.
Fatigue prevented the striker from joining up with his team-mates last time out and Drmic will be relishing the opportunity to try and help propel Switzerland to Euro 2020 qualification. His omission from the squad came as the Swiss recorded victory against Gibraltar but could only manage a draw with Ireland.
Drmic's Swiss debut came in 2012, and he has since made 32 appearances for his country, scoring 10 times. Drmic was born to Croatian parents but opted to play for Switzerland after being born in the country.
The striker has been an understudy to Teemu Pukki thus far this season, with the form of City's top scorer restricting the opportunities provided to Drmic.
He replaced Marco Stiepermann at Selhurst Park in City's 2-0 defeat to the Eagles last week but is yet to make his first start in the Premier League for the Canaries. Injury has halted his progress in Norfolk but he will be hoping to grasp his chance at interntaional level to force himself into Daniel Farke's plans.

Switzerland do possess plenty of recognisable operators in their squad with Drmic competing with highly-rated Borussia Mönchengladbach striker Breel Embolo, Dynamo Zagreb's Mario Gavranovic and Benfica's Haris Seferovic for minutes. Switzerland do opt for two strikers in a 3-5-2 formation, so it appears likely Drmic will be exposed to some playing time.
Switzerland currently sits third in Group D of their European qualifying group despite being unbeaten, with their opponents during this break sitting above them in the table. They travel to Denmark on Saturday, October 12 (5pm) before facing Ireland at home on Tuesday, October 15 (7.45pm).

Two wins for Switzerland would put them in strong contention for qualification for Euro 2020 with the finals being played in a host of locations next summer.
Several of City's players will be representing their nations throughout the international break, with the squads having been announced prior to the Canaries top-flight clash with Aston Villa.
Max Aarons and Todd Cantwell have been called up for England U21 duty, but team mate Ben Godfrey will miss the games as he has an operation on a hernia issue.
Jamal Lewis is fit enough for inclusion in Michael O'Neill's Northern Ireland squad despite concerns over an elbow issue. Goalkeeper Michael McGovern has also been named in the squad.
As expected, Teemu Pukki has been selected in Finland's squad, with the striker being a talismanic figure for Markku Kanerva's squad, who already have a place in the play-offs sealed thanks to winning their Uefa Nations League group last year.
