DISS TOWN have started the season with two tough games. They were beaten 2-0 at Newmarket Town last Saturday in a match of few chances. On Tuesday there was a 1-1 home draw with Gorleston. Diss had more of the first half play with The Greens enjoying the second half play. Overall a draw was a fair result.

Ex-Tangerine captain Dale Vince was deemed to have beaten the offside trap when he moved on to a 28th minute through ball to put The Jockeys ahead.

Robbie Lawrence was high with the best chance of the match seconds after the break. Newmarket made it 2-0 when Tony Becks lifted the ball high into the net from 25 yards out after Mark Camidge failed to get distance on his punched clearance at a free kick.

Andy Moody had shot high to a good chance before Diss took a 33rd minute lead against Gorleston. Adie Hayes sent a free kick from just outside the penalty area wide on the left for Leighton Miller to head one of his typical set piece goals from six yards.

Chad Pillar moved on to a through ball to equalise in the 50th minute on the counter-attack at a Diss free-kick.

Diss thanked Roy Allen Engineering Ltd of Stanley Road, Diss for sponsoring the Gorleston match.
