IT MAY have only been Torquay in the Carling Cup on Wednesday, but City notched their first away win of the season, scored two goals and kept a clean sheet. Not bad.

As they say, winning breeds confidence, and with the cup result stretching that unbeaten run to four games it can only be a matter of time before we get that first away league win.

City were a bit unfortunate to come away with only a point from Derby. On another day we could have scored two or three goals. Let's hope that by the time you read this, that unbeaten run has been stretched to five games with a good win and performance against Barnsley.

Nigel Worthington may have only made one new player signing during the summer but at the moment he is proving to be a good one. To see Lee Croft flying down the right wing and Darren Huckerby down the left with little Earnie in the middle must put the fear of God into some defenders. He seems to have fitted in very well, very quickly, and has soon become a hero at Carrow Road. His goal against Luton was well deserved and well taken.

I hope that has put him on his way to many more. But come on, lads - can you start scoring at the Barclay end, please? We're feeling a bit left out!

One of the biggest differences this season is being able to field the same side for the first four league games. We haven't had the amount of injuries and illnesses that we suffered at the beginning of last season, and with the rejuvenated Dickson Etuhu and Carl Robinson in the middle of the park, we are certainly looking a force to be reckoned with.

Unlike some other teams, though, we won't start shouting about it. We'll just quietly keep picking up those points and see where that gets us at the end of the season - and we hope it will be promotion.

From what I've seen so far this season, there don't seem to be too many other teams that have played as well as us, so the team should be going into each game full of confidence.
