BRANDON LADS U13 had a home game against Cornard Dynamos on a very cold, wet, windy Sunday with a lunch-time kick-off. Brandon started well and had the early possession but failed to take their chances, hitting the post, grazing the crossbar and shooting just wide. However, it was Cornard that took the lead on a rare attack they crossed a ball into the box which Brandon failed to clear and Cornard took advantage. From the restart it was all Brandon attacking and soon they were level after Muzza Burt played a ball through to Harry Rampley who took one touch and then placed the ball in the corner of the net. In the second half it was much of the same as the first half as the Brandon defence stayed strong when under attack and Brandon midfield and strikers always looking threatening in attack with some great work from Isaac Allen on the right. Brandon scored their second from a long throw which was controlled well by Kane Philpot who set up Rampley for his second. Brandon's third was from Allen who made a great run down the right and struck a brilliant goal from a tight angle. Brandon controlled the game for long spells but Cornard did manage to grab a late goal to finish the game 3-2. This was a solid team performance in difficult conditions. MoM: Harry Rampley two goals, great runs always a threat.

MUNDFORD U14 played Clenchwarton in a tough top-of-the- table clash, with both teams unbeaten, and conceded their first league defeat of the season. In the first half Clenchwarton pressurised Mundford, and had several shots at goal, but were denied by keeper Adam Whybrow, and a goal-line clearance from Adam Brown. Ten minutes into the second half, Mundford conceded their first goal, and never regained their composure. Despite valiant efforts from Robbie Smith in midfield and Daniel Jackson in defence, Mundford went on to concede three more goals, with Clenchwarton coming out deserved 4-0 winners.

THETFORD BULLDOGS U12 hosted Brandon on a boggy pitch, but it was a very good game, finishing 2-2. Brandon got the first goal with an excellent shot, but following a good move between George and Milo, Daniel equalised for 1-1. Brandon went ahead again when Joseph was beaten with a good shot. Bulldogs came back fighting and Daniel had his shot saved twice. But after a spell of pressure, Andre hit a thunderbolt to level it up. A great game in horrible conditions. Well done both teams. MoM: Milo Clay.

THETFORD BULLDOGS U12 hosted Thetford Town in the local derby and it was a great game. Both sides played well, but an excellent Alfie Small strike put Bulldogs into an important lead. Town were forcing Bulldogs back and Joseph had to pull off an excellent save. The second half was also end to end, with Damien dominant at the back, as was Arran, but Town found a chance and scored an equaliser. The good football continued and Joseph pulled off another great save, but Town scored for victory, 2-1.

HARLING COLTS U12 made it through to the League Cup final with a gold-star performance against Dereham from the division above them, winning 5-3. Despite the relentless rain, the game started at a furious pace, with Harling the first to settle, taking the lead when a long-range Daniel Mobbs free-kick evaded everyone and went in at the far post. Dereham equalised, but Harling retook the lead when Rob Turner's pass played in Luke Holland, whose shot slipped through the keeper's fingers. Again Dereham equalised, but Harling scored again before the break, with great work from Sam Smith setting up birthday boy Isaac Watkinson to score. Dereham equalised for the last time straight after the break, but Harling dominated from then on and won the tie, with Smith setting up Mobbs for the fourth and Smith getting a well- deserved goal himself to secure a place in the final.

THETFORD TOWN U12 travelled to play Dereham Blues in wet and windy conditions. Unfortunately Town went one down a couple of minutes into the game, but then started to play well as a team and soon equalised through Bart. Town then took control of the game and soon more goals were added by Bart and Daniel, making the half-time score 3-1. Town started the second half playing brilliantly together, especially the defence of Andrew, Luke, Dominic and Charlie. More goals were added by Bart and Daniel, with both scoring hat-tricks for a 6-1 win to Thetford. Dereham MoM: Daniel Jurzkck, Town MoM: Luke Ward.

THETFORD INDEPENDENTS U13 hosted Bury Town C on a very boggy pitch but came away 4-2 winners. Indies started the game well putting a few good moves together but coming to nothing. Indies did eventually take the lead when Ty Whitby forced the ball through the middle to Harry White who slotted past the on rushing keeper. It wasn't long before it was 2-0 when after good work from Tom Mason set up Shey Spears whose shot turned into a great cross for Callum Crabb to come in back post and tap in. Indies came out slow in the second half and were put under pressure from Bury and after being warned by a previous free-kick Indies gave away another one which this time resulted in a goal. Bury now had momentum and had another free-kick in an identical position as the last and the same result. Indies, to their credit, didn't let their heads drop and again took the lead when Charlie Reed hit a 25-yard free-kick high down the middle of the goal. Indies then secured the win when good work from Kieron Fowler and Shey Spears down the left for the latter to send a cross over for Harry White to net for Indies' fourth. MoM: Luke Jones.

WATTON U10 travelled to face Thetford Bulldogs, and came away with a vital first-leg lead, as they look to book their place in the League Cup final. Facing horrible weather conditions once again, it took both sides a while to settle into any sort of rhythm, but slowly Watton started to get into the stride, and created a couple of chances. Bulldogs also started to play well, but just before the break Watton got a massive stroke of luck, when a long throw from James Beaumont was headed into his own net by a Bulldogs defender. The second quarter was again quite even, as both sides battled superbly on the small pitch. Some tremendous tackling from Liam Owen, Kade Bond and Cameron Hudson kept the home team at bay, whilst Ben Walker and Ollie Kerrison were a constant threat out wide. Joshua Walker and Matty Hendrie also worked tirelessly up front, but there were few chances as the first half finished with Watton leading 1-0. The third quarter saw Bulldogs start strongly, and Asher Duncan had to be on top form to keep out a couple of close-range efforts. The pressure finally told, however, as Bulldogs broke through to equalise. This set-back only seemed to spur Watton on, however, as they quickly regained their lead, after Sam Bray's long pass found Joshua, and his clever touch set up James to smash the ball home. The final quarter saw Watton finally start to control the game, and put Bulldogs under a spell of sustained pressure. With Kade playing balls quickly out of defence, Watton attacked with pace, and from one of these balls the excellent Ben went on another mazy run before crashing the ball home. Liam then got in on the act, as he surged forward, and with a raking shot increased Watton's lead even further. Just before the end, Asher was called on again to make another fine save, and this proved even more important, as Watton broke away, and after another fine move, saw Joshua stroke the ball home from close range. In such difficult conditions, Watton again produced another tremendous performance, as the game finished Bulldogs 1, Watton 5.

WEETING U10 will take a one-goal lead into the second leg of the League Trophy semi-final after a very narrow win in an end-to-end game with both teams giving everything. The home team had a chance in the first minute, the quarter continued with Weeting having the better chance but it was the visitors who took the lead from a corner. The second quarter saw Wymondham push Weeting back for most of this period but it was the home team who pulled level when J Peeling tapped home from close range. The visitors then retook the lead but again the home team pulled level through R Hunter. The second half even got better then the first when once again the away team scored but as the first N Ward pulled Weeting level 3-3, up the other end Wymondham went 4-3, back came Weeting, N Ward 4-4. Final quarter the visitors went 5-4, up popped J Peeling 5-5 and with time running out and for the first time in match Weeting took the lead when, from way outside the box, MoM R Hunter fired home for the winning goal 6-5. Credit must go for both teams to have played some great football in the cold and rain that never let up. PoD for Weeting J Peach.
