BRANDON LASSES U10 beat Waveney Vixens 7-0 in a fabulous game, staying strong throughout.

Brandon had most of the play, but struggled to finish off many creative moves. The second half saw Brandon dominate, which resulted in six goals in 20 minutes. Fraya pulled off a great save, Louise K, Millie and Faye were all brilliant in defence. Jess, Alexis and Melissa consistently controlled the midfield. Amaris and Shannon attacked skilfully time and again. Fabulous result girls. Scorers were Alexis Coleman (2), Amaris Tyynismaa (2), Jessica Morley, Melissa Boulton and Louise Kennedy. PoM: Alexis Coleman.

BRANDON LASSES U11 beat East Bergholt 6-1 in a solid performance. Two goals in the first half from Coleman and one from Richardson saw the Lasses go in at half-time with a comfortable 3-0 lead. The second half saw the Lasses continue to dominate with plenty of chances for Brandon. Nolan added Brandon’s fourth with a great strike from the edge of the box before Bergholt pulled one back. Nolan then added her second, and Whybrow scored an excellent goal from a corner to finish the game 6-1 to Brandon. PoM: Alexis Coleman.

BRANDON LASSES U12 beat Colt Jags 4-0. Lasses found Jags difficult to break down for the first 20 minutes. Great battling on the right by Ellesse, winning the ball and crossing to find Millie, who finished well to give the Lasses a well-deserved lead. The Lasses added a second just before half-time when great link-up play between Lucy P and Ellesse, and then finished by Millie. Lasses started the second half well, going close from the kick-off.

Not for the first time this season Brandon failed to capitalise on their possession and domination of games creating lots of chances, but just not finding the finish. Five minutes into the second half Brandon finally found the net again, with Millie completing her hat-trick after a good passing move. The Lasses added a fourth after the ball pin-balled around the box, first Amy had a shot saved, and then Georgia’s shot rebounded off a post falling at Lucie C’s feet, who duly hit the back of the net to give Lasses a 4-0 victory. PoM: Millie Bales.

BRANDON LASSES U13 confirmed their place as league champions with a hard-fought away victory at Kirton Kestrels. With first and second-choice keeper not available, Field stood in, clearing her lines on several occasions but with Page, Coleman and Odebrecht solid at the back she was well protected. Zawiasa, O’Malley, Slater and Jamgochian worked tirelessly in a crowded midfield feeding Masters up front. Brandon took the lead from an Oderbrecht corner tucked in at the far post by Masters. She then scored her second, breaking from her own half and then tucking the ball away. Zawiasa made it three with a lovely finish after picking the ball up wide left for a half-time score of 3-0. Kirton worked hard throughout the game and changed things at half-time with good effect pulling a goal back but the Lasses responded well with further goals. Jamgochian produced a good finish across the keeper and Master completed a well deserved hat-trick after good work in midfield by O’Malley. Well done to whole squad for a great achievement.

Now they will be aiming to finish the season off in style.

HARLING COLTS U13 went out of the cup beaten 6-1 by Rocklands in this windswept game. Jack Rodwell and Isaac Watkinson had early efforts saved before a Rocklands’ breakaway saw them score. Another break doubled Rocklands’ lead before Harling hit back with Rob Turner converting a penalty and Luke Holland hitting the crossbar. Harling conceded another straight after the break but the Rocklands’ keeper pulled off a brilliant save to keep out Thomas Dunning’s header and a Daniel Mobbs free-kick hit the bar. As the wind strengthened Harling weakened and conceded further goals towards the end of the game.

SWAFFHAM TOWN COLTS U10 entertained runaway leaders Harling and got off to a dream start when L Worby raced onto J Lenderyou’s long kick to fire home. M Friend then added two quick goals, one being with a brave diving header from E Laits teasing cross. E Lait’s quality pass was put away by L Worby to make it 4-0. Harling then fought back strongly with two goals before half-time. L Worby completed his hat-trick when he latched onto C Burton’s long throw and M Friend bagged his hat-trick with a rasping shot. Harling then staged another fight back with two more goals. H Despard’s tireless running coupled with good defending from J Mellady and J Sanders and safe handling from keeper Lenderyou, Colts went onto seal the game with a stunning D O’Neill drive and a fine solo effort from L Worby. A great advert for mini soccer. Final score Colts 8, Harling 4. MoM: James Melladay.

THETFORD TOWN U13 hosted Lakenheath on a very windy and cold afternoon. The game started brightly, with Town piling on the pressure, resulting in a goal from Samuel on his first appearance. Lakenheath started to pick up pace and managed to draw level in the dying seconds of the half. The second half was end to end with both teams going for it, and having as many chances. Unfortunately after a great game Lakenheath managed to pinch the points. Well done to both teams for a great game. Town MoM: Samuel Oliveira. Lakenheath MoM: Harry Hutt.

WATTON U11 maintained their 100 per cent start to 2011 with a comprehensive home victory against a hard-working Costessey and kept up the heat at the top of the table. Once again strong winds made it difficult but despite not being at their best Watton again played some lovely passing football to create a host of chances. Watton were also strong defensively and with Liam Owen, Kade Bond, Sean Grix and Ben Andrews playing particularly well Watton had a sound platform to drive forward. Ollie Kerrison and Ben Walker also supplied a number of chances for Watton’s forwards and only some superb goalkeeping from the visiting keeper stopped it being a rout but Watton still led 4-1 going in at half-time. The second half saw Watton playing much better with more movement all over the pitch and this time the impressive Costessey keeper could only watch as the goals started to flow. With goals coming from Cameron Hudson (3), Matty Hendrie (3), Joshua Walker (2), Sam Peck (2), James Beaumont, Koreben Willis and an own goal the game ended Watton 13, Costessey 1.

THETFORD BULLDOGS U14 travelled to Topps United for their Sub Cup game and after last week’s game it was anyone’s. Bulldogs defended well and Sam Fisher made lots of great saves if Topps got though. It was end-to-end football, but Topps scored and at half-time Bulldogs was 1-0 down. In the second half Alfie Harding found the back of the net to level the score. Bulldogs stepped up another level and Uri Nunes made a goal of the season. Harry Robertson came on for Tom Cole and scored from his first touch of the ball. Bulldogs won 3-1. All the Bulldogs deserved this win and another round in the cup. MoM: the whole team, Topps MoM: Uri Nunes.

MUNDFORD U15 hosted Hilgay in a cup game, and won 9-0. Mundford had most of the play from kick-off but struggled to find the back of the net. After 10 minutes Aiden Bond opened the scoring, shortly followed by a goal from Jake Cottrell. Mason Thorogood made it 3-0 with a superbly taken free-kick and with goals from Casey Underwood, Sam Bunten and Tom Wells, Mundford were 6-0 up at half-time. The second half was much the same with further goals from Wells, Bunten and Cottrell. Final score 9-0. MoM: Jake Cottrell and thanks to Hilgay for a sporting game.

BULLDOGS U13 travelled to Rocklands and came away losing by 5-4. Bulldogs’ goals were scored by Andre Marcao, Archie Moore, Ryan Brown and Daniel Stevens. In a scrappy first half neither team could get control of the game in the windy conditions. Bulldogs opened the scoring but Rocklands were level very quickly. This continued into the second half and every time Bulldogs regained the lead Rocklands pegged them back quickly and eventually scored the winner late on.

LAKENHEATH YOUTH U13 played Thetford who scored the first goal but Lakenheath continued to battle and had several chances which the keeper kept out. Lakenheath broke forward and after a great pass from Ben Nolan into the box, Kieron Danbrowsky hit the back of the net from an acute angle to make it 1-1. In the second half Thetford had several chances but the Lakenheath defence, led by captain Connor Knight, held firm and Piotr Babicz in goal made many saves. Thetford kept pushing and soon scored two goals. They continued the pressure but Lakenheath fought back. They were rewarded when Ben Nolan latched onto a through ball and hit the back of the net. Miles Stiddard scored the equaliser after making a break from the halfway line and then scored his second to make the score 4-3 to Lakenheath. Thetford threw everything at Lakenheath but they held fast, making some crucial tackles and Piotr Babicz in goal having his best game of the season. Fine performances from both teams. MoM: Piotr Babicz; manger’s MoM: Connor Knight.

WEETING U11 remain unbeaten and move eight points clear at the top of the table with an excellent win over their nearest rival Cringleford. This was a great game of football with both teams playing some excellent passing football. But the visitors could not stop man-of-the-match J Peeling’s powerful running and finishing – he ended with four goals to his name. The match did not start well for Weeting when from a corner R Hunter sliced into his own net, but soon N Ward fed J Peeling who raced clear for 1-1. Cringleford regained the lead but again J Peeling raced clear to make it 2-2. Peeling then made it 3-2 and it took a first-class save by C Sheppard to keep then in front. N Ward made it 4-2 and Peeling rifled in his fourth and Weeting’s fifth from just outside the box for a 5-2 victory. PoD: M McCready who with his other three defenders kept Cringleford out.

MUNDFORD U10 started in fine form with great passing and movement amongst the team. They should have taken advantage in the first two quarters when they controlled the game with a great many chances and managed two goals, from Sam and Harvey, which should have been a greater number had it not been for Lakenheath’s keeper. By the third quarter Lakenheath were getting into their stride and had managed to get a goal back and were putting the pressure on but with Mundford’s two strikers injured and off they managed to get another goal back, making the final score 2-2. MoM: James Gornall.
