MUNDFORD U10 played Mulbarton U10 in a must-win game and they didn’t disappoint.

Although Mundford didn’t have any subs they kept the pace and pressure on Mulbarton for most of the game. The game started with three or four near misses from Mundford but they soon managed from the help of Harvey Shorten, Sam Rolph, Luke Corbyn and Fernando Alves to score four goals in the first quarter. With Mundford dominating the second quarter it was a surprise when Mulbarton scored twice due to Mundford ball-watching. Harvey did manage to slam in one further goal in this quarter. With continued sublime passing, a further five goals from Harvey and Fernando secured a 9-3 win. MoM: Fernando Alves.

MUNDFORD U10 played Wymondham U10 and this was another must-win game and both teams played brilliantly throughout but unfortunately for Mundford was not reflected in the final score. Mundford played a very tight game in the first quarter with defenders Billy and James managing to keep Wymondham at bay. Luke, Harvey, Sam and Fernando battled hard to get the ball into the Wymondham’s half but never quite made it into the net. Wymondham managed to secure two goals each in the next three quarters despite the continuing efforts of Mundford keeper Angus and their subs Jude and Harry who came on in the third quarter. Final score: 6-0. MoM: Fernando Alves.

SWAFFHAM TOWN U10 hosted Toftwood knowing a win would secure the SNYFL U10 Division B league title. Town made the worst possible start, going 1-0 down in the first minute. Accomplished defending from C Burton, J Mellady and good goalkeeping from J Lenderyou enabled Town to regain their composure and L Worby’s corner somehow found its way into the net. M Friend’s slick pass put L Worby in again and he finished clinically. L Worby bagged his hat-trick when he drove home E Lait’s terrific pass, then added his fourth and his 50th goal of the season when he slotted home D O’Neill’s slide rule pass. T Burke was introduced to shore up the defence as Town held out to take the title on goal difference with two games to spare. Final score: Swaffham Town 4, Toftwood 1. Congratulations to Martin O’Neill and the team on a fantastic achievement. MoM: Team Swaffham.

THETFORD BULLDOGS U11 met Cringleford in the South Norfolk Trophy final and secured a brilliant 4-1 victory. A tense opening saw both sides struggle to play their usual passing game before Ben made some space to turn and shoot into the bottom corner to give Bulldogs the lead. Chances were created at both ends and it was Cringleford who equalised before Bradley restored Bulldogs’ lead, scoring straight from a corner. The second half Bulldogs took control and Alex Vasey chased a through-ball to poke home and Bradley got his second with another excellent finish. A great all-round team effort from Adam, Oliver M, Jacob, Oliver L, Lewis, Marcus, Alex Snow, Nathan, Lawrence, Ryan and Alex Darton.
