Only one Premier Division fixture was played on Saturday - but it was a highly significant one as Acle United moved to the top of the table.

With overnight leaders Hempnall - in common with the majority of clubs - having an afternoon off, Acle made full use of their game in hand as they beat Dersingham 3-1.

Nathan Thompson led the way with a brace, with Ben Morgan also on target, while Billy Overton scored what proved to be a consolation goal for the west Norfolk outfit.

As a result Acle go into the new year a point clear of Hempnall, with both teams having played exactly half of their fixtures. Blofield and Sheringham are both well placed just behind the front two with games in hand while North Walsham would also move ahead of them if they won their outstanding matches.

It's as you were in Division One, with Gayton's home match against St Andrews being postponed, while in Division Two Norwich St Johns moved up to second place with a 3-1 win at Hellesdon and Poringland Wanderers kept up the pressure on the top three with a 7-1 drubbing of Beccles Caxton.

There was a surprise in Division Three as leaders Bradenham Wanderers lost

5-3 at Hempnall Reserves, while Loddon Reserves beat their Caister counterparts 4-3 in a mid-table fixture.
