HETHERSETT Athletic Ladies hosted the Women's five-a-side tournament at the Memorial Playing Field as part of the village's Olympic 2012 celebration open weekend. Eighteen teams from around the region took part.
Qualifiers at the end of the group stages were: Thorpe Pinks, Coltishall, Hethersett Hearts, Thorpe Oranges, Aylsham, Hethersett Oranges, Hethersett Hearts Blues and Wymondham Greens. Quarter-Finals: Thorpe Pinks 1, Hethersett Hearts 0; Thorpe Oranges 0, Hethersett Oranges 0 (Hethersett won 4-1 on penalties); Hethersett Hawks Blues 1, Coltishall 3; Wymondham Greens 1, Aylsham 0. Semis: Wymondham Greens 0, Hethersett Oranges 1; Thorpe Pinks 1, Coltishall 0. Final: Thorpe Pinks 2, Hethersett Hearts Oranges 0.
The presentations to the winners and runners-up were made by County FA's Stuart Dracup who also presented East Anglian Championship medals to two Hethersett players who last season were regulars for the Norfolk side, Emily Coates and Emma Mulley.
