Number 13, unlucky for some… In a hard-fought contest against Hull City last Tuesday the Canaries overcame that hurdle with another point. The Tigers provided what many have thought to be the sternest test in our magnificent run. Not only as a team effort but in Jay Jay Okacha they had a Premiership quality player turning in an impressive performance. However I wonder what choice words last week's writer, Robert O'Neil, had to say about the referee's performance?

What did puzzle me, not for the first time, was Docherty's selection as MOM by the match sponsors. OK so the 'Doc' had a good game but for me there were a few too many 'Hairy Doc Moments' for comfort.

My choice was David Marshall for another good all round performance topped by THAT wonder save which for me went right to top of world-class saves alongside Gordon Banks' save from Pele in the World Cup many years ago.

Moving on I read, with some surprise, Neil Adams' views on the stupid rule, his words not mine, that removing one's shirt did not warrant a yellow card. In Mondays EDP I saw a picture of Fozzy, our team captain, caught in the act of removing his shirt which could have meant 2 yellow cards which could cost the team dear later in the season. No Neil, drop this rule and I can see the time when we could witness the unedifying sight of all 11 members of the team cavorting all over the pitch stripped to the waist.

This raises an interesting question, has any one ever watched a ladies' match where the goal scorer did a Ched Evans?

Answers on a postcard please.

Another controversial issue raised recently is that it appears 'someone' wants to change the image of our Canary badge.

I'm with those who say "if it ain't broke don't fix it". That is until we see some serious options to consider.

Who better to do that? Canary fans of course.

It should not be difficult to organise a competition in age groups so we include younger fans and possibly the schools they attend.

Professional agencies would not be barred on the understanding that no fees are payable.

There have been many pithy comments made about the Premiership proposal to play fixtures abroad. Now surprise, surprise we have the NIMBY syndrome appearing the other side of the world. What a shame!

Last, but not least, NCISA chairman John Tilson, committee member Daphne Griffiths and myself were guests of Lee Clarke at Colney on Wednesday. Lee as you may well know is sponsored by NCISA and this was our first opportunity to meet and talk informally with him during his lunch break.

The place was a hive of activity and the number of young players involved was very impressive.

Thanks Lee for your time and enthusiastic commitment to the Canary Crusade.
