Dereham Wanderers Girls U13 played Norwich U13 Girls in the cup final.Despite a disappointing league season, Dereham showed their evident capabilities by qualifying for the final against formidable league winners Norwich.

Despite a disappointing league season, Dereham showed their evident capabilities by qualifying for the final against formidable league winners Norwich.
Dereham started strong with Charlie skilfully weaving through the Norwich midfielders, but her shot was saved.
Leanne battled well to push the ball up to Alice who saw a shot wide. Abby was nimble on the ball and consistently out ran her opponent to push up the field.
A Norwich striker sailed a strong volley over the heads of the defence and into the back of the Dereham net. Despite excellent defending from Georgia and Kendall and several good saves from Katy the first half ended 3-0 to Norwich.
Hannah came on for Leanne and battled well up front. Georgia used her head to clear the box on numerous occasions. Charlie and Alice worked perfectly together interrupting Norwich smooth runs and powering the ball into the Norwich box, however, the opponent's goalkeeper was on form. Battling Abby came off for Leanne who bravely continued the struggle for control.

The match ended 6-0 to Norwich.
The secretary of the league presenting the trophies acknowledged a fantastic game that was not representative of the final score. He also passed on the referee's comments on the Dereham captain Kendall's great leadership and play.
The girls were proud to accept their runner-up trophies and paid tribute and good wishes to Kendall as she leaves the side, after captaining for three years, to live in the USA.
