Almost 1,000 fans on Norwich City's season ticket waiting list look certain to be in luck after the renewal deadline next week.

Canaries officials are confident that, with 17,600 season ticket holders and 1,800 on the waiting list, the cap of 20,096 will be reached.

The final deadline for season ticket renewals is a week today , with seats left empty after that going to those on the waiting list, which is still open.

Ticket office staff are writing to the first 950 fans on the waiting list because they are the ones who are almost certainly guaranteed a seat at Carrow Road next season.

Those fans will have from 9am on June 1 until close of business on June 7 to claim their seat.

If they don't take up the offer, then letters will go out to the next batch on the waiting list eligible for a place - who have from 9am on June 8 to close of business on June 14 to confirm their seat.

City director of marketing, Andrew Cullen, said City were expecting full houses at Carrow Road again next season.

“We are up to 17,600 renewals with 1,800 on the waiting list so we will get very, very close to our cap of 20,060 which we achieved last year,” he said. “It's a fantastic achievement by our supporters to renew in such large numbers, particularly in contrast to other teams in the Championship.”

City's ticketing policy means season toicket holders can change seats if they wish, during the Movers and Shakers' week, which begins at 9am on May 24, until May 31.

“It means people can sit with friends and family and through that week we get seats freed up all the time,” added Cullen.

“The waiting list is still open. Once we get to May 20 when we know how many seats will be free we will write to them and let them know they can come in and claim their seat.”
