It was yet another weather-related postponement for Norwich City Ladies on Sunday, adding to the fixture backlog frustration.

Incredibly, the Canaries haven't played a SE Combination game since October because of bad weather and their Women's FA Cup and County Cup ties taking precedence.

Their scheduled league game on Sunday at Newport Pagnell was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.

Co-manager Emma Fletcher said: “It has been a frustrating few weeks again for us as we were really pleased with the County Cup performance the week before against King's Lynn and itching to finally play a long-awaited league fixture.

“However it was not to be and we now face a massive fixture run-in with the league and two cup semi-finals.

“With an anticipated finish of early May there really is going to be no room for anymore call-offs and whilst we have managed to secure midweek fixtures against Cambridge it is not logistically possible to play any of the other teams in our league, so its a waiting game to see when and who we play next.”

She added: “The girls will continue to train and prepare for next weekend's fixture in the league against Northampton which is due to take place, weather permitting of course, at Plantation Park at 2pm.”
