This meeting was a good opportunity to discuss many of the issues at some length.

In addition, the long list of points and proposals raised at St Andrew's Hall has been given to the club for further consideration.

Three things were very clear to me by the end of the meeting: firstly, the club officials are deeply disappointed at results this season; secondly, the manager has their support - at present; and thirdly, there is some real concern that opinion among fans is polarising, and may be permanently divisive.

This was an initial meeting and there are a lot more points to be answered, but NCISA is very aware that not many clubs are as willing to engage with fans directly as ours, and we appreciate the openness at Carrow Road.

At present, City's fan base remains large, committed and to be envied by other clubs. Poor performances on the pitch have led to many supporters venting their frustration and dissatisfaction with the manager in organised demonstrations.

This in turn has inevitably led to criticism of the protests - and letters and emails in support of Nigel to the club and local Press. The vast majority of supporters - whether for or against the manager - have remained reasonable and willing to listen to each other. Very Norwich City!

However, it is hard to show respect when we profoundly disagree with opinions we do not share on matters of huge importance to us.

It can be particularly hard when the people voicing those opinions are younger than we are. One of the least attractive outcomes of recent events has been attempts to belittle demonstrators by describing them as “only kids”.

Whatever their age, they are supporters.

We need these young people to give their support to the club, the players and the manager - and to feel entitled to express their concern at poor performances alongside their parents and grandparents.

On a happier note,it was really great to go to the ground last week and enjoy a game of football that was full of passion, skill and excitement!

Thanks to all those who helped to bring the England v Iceland women's international friendly to Norwich.

For those who were there, particularly the young people, the game was a great demonstration of commitment and players working hard for each other.

Hope Powell and the team gave us a great night's entertainment. Good luck to them in qualifying for the women's World Cup.
