King's Lynn boss Keith Webb is warning his side to cut out the 'madness' undermining the club's bid to avoid being sucked into a Blue Square North dogfight.

Lynn squandered a stoppage time lead at Solihull in midweek for the second time in the space of four days after title-chasing AFC Telford pegged Webb's side back at the weekend.

“We shouldn't have needed a reminder but after what happened at Telford we've let two wins slip through our fingers,” he said. “Telford had been riding high and Solihull were on a good run so we've basically come to two tough places and gone away gutted at taking two draws. We just couldn't get the second goal which means you will always be under pressure.

“Supporters travelled a long way on a Tuesday night and they went away disappointed, but the players should feel the same because we put in a huge amount of effort and played some decent football. We looked to have got to grips with this new system and after going ahead you think, 'right, let's see the game out,' but we couldn't do that.”

Webb was critical of experienced midfielder Scott Mitchell after the former Peterborough man was robbed of possession in the build up to Solihull's late equaliser.

“It's just pure madness,” said Webb. “We shot ourselves in the foot. You think we have players here who have been around a bit and lads who have been in the professional game so when we get a corner that late in stoppage time they've just got to keep the ball in the corner. What can I say as a manager going into the changing room after we've done that?

“When I think of the games this season where we've let things go in the last few minutes. If you were to add those points up that we've let slip then we'd in and around the play-offs right now. I just don't know what it is - whether it's a concentration thing and we believe the job is done and knock off. We'd done the hard part because Solihull had a spell when balls were coming into our box from all angles but we competed and defended properly. Then in the last few seconds all that goes out of the window.”

Webb confirmed midfielder Andrew Fisk picked up a hamstring injury at Damson Park. Webb hinted striker Julian Joachim (groin) is also set to remain on the sidelines. The former Coventry striker was restricted to a light jogging session before Lynn's midweek Midlands draw after missing the three previous matches.

“Julian will be struggling for Saturday and Fisky has done his hamstring so that is going to be a few games,” said Webb. “Big Jack (Defty) comes back in but we'll just have a look at the numbers and see where we go. I was pleased with the two lads up front. I thought Kris (Renton) and Dominic (Dwyer) worked extremely hard. Dominic caused Solihull no end of problems.”
