After a poor performance the previous week Albion were looking to make progress in the Division Two Cup welcoming Blofield to Thorpe High School.

In a tight first half both sides created decent chances without breaking the deadlock. Blofield hit the bar with a shot from the edge of the box and Albion keeper Tim Hales was called in to action tipping over another goalbound effort.

Albion defended a number of set pieces effectively and at times looked dangerous going forward, skipper Andy Rochford heading narrowly wide from a well delivered Leeper cross after Jenner had also gone close and struck the upright.

The second half opened up the game even more and it was the away side who took the lead, a well struck half volley from outside the box gave Hales no chance to make the save. Still in the game Albion went looking for the equaliser without much luck, Cooper unlucky not to win a penalty after a strong challenge in the area.

Albion did create a couple of chances late on, as again Cooper proving to be the danger man, had two goalbound efforts saved by the opposition’s keeper. Despite Albion’s dominance in the last 15 minutes of the game, they were unable to score the equaliser, which meant the end of any possible cup success for another season.
