Norwich City's hopes of capturing defender Fitz Hall took a nosedive yesterday when Wigan quashed speculation linking him with a move to Norfolk.
Canaries boss Peter Grant admitted last week that he was keen on bringing the 26-year-old to Carrow Road on loan to help bolster his resources in central defence.
But while Hall has been linked with a whole host of Championship clubs, Wigan boss Chris Hutchings says he's going nowhere - and could even play against Fulham today.
“Fitz is staying here,” said Hutchings yesterday. “He has worked extremely hard and has been on the bench and in the squad this season.
“He is in the reckoning for tomorrow's game.”
Hall has slipped down the pecking order at the JJB Stadium, but turned down a switch to Charlton before transfer deadline day.
Sheffield Wednesday, Coventry and Hull City were also said to be interested in the former Oldham and Crystal Palace player.
