Lionel Ainsworth will be anxiously awaiting Lee Clark's team sheet today as he tries to establish himself in the Town boss' plans.

Ainsworth joined Huddersfield from Watford last January, but has struggled to hold down a regular first team place and even though he featured in the 2-1 win over Gillingham a week ago, he knows that the return of Anthony Pilkington after a one-match suspension could see him back on the bench.

"We've got a young and hungry squad here and everyone wants to be a part of things," said Ainsworth, who had a short spell at Wycombe in 2007 during Paul Lambert's time as manager at Adams Park.

"Obviously only 11 can start at any one time, but chances do come along and you have to try and grab them.

"I was a little surprised to get the sponsors' man of the match award against Gillingham, but I thought I did okay, especially in the second half.

"I was getting on the ball at that stage, and I had the chance to use my pace, get in behind the defenders, deliver some decent crosses and even get a couple of shots off.

"With Pilks in great form, I've had to be patient, and most of my chances this season have come from the bench.

"That's better than not being involved at all, and I'll just keep plugging away and doing my best to impress the manager," he added.
