Wisbech Town bowed out of the UCL Knockout Cup at the first hurdle, beaten 3-1 by visiting Potton United.

Manager Dick Creasey gave first starts of the season to Kieran Hamilton and Curtis Knight, whilst Eddie Buzas and Harry Baldry returned to the starting line-up.

The Fenmen created several chances during the first half, frontmen Michael Frew and Josh Ford both guilty of failing to test the keeper. This profligacy was punished in the final minute of the half as a looping header from Danny Webb found the net.

Nine minutes into the second half, Jon Fairweather equalised for Wisbech from a yard out after an attempted defensive header played him onside.

The visitors went ahead in the 68th minute when Courtney Boughton beat the offside trap to beat keeper Harry Payne at the second attempt. With Wisbech now chasing the game, Potton capitalised on gaps at the back and Aaron Murrell cemented their place in the next round in the 81st minute.
