Gary Setchell’s first game back in charge of Wisbech Town for almost eight years saw his new charges end a four-match losing streak with a comfortable 4-0 win over Leicester side St Andrews.
The sides were evenly matched to start with but, in front their new boss, the Wisbech players began to get on top and it was no surprise when Michael Frew headed the Fenmen into the lead in the 27th minute from a perfect Jordan Yong cross.
The dominance continued and five minutes before the break Frew was on hand to smash home his and the Fenmen’s second from Billy Smith’s cross.
Four minutes into the second half, a good move ended with Frew denied a hat-trick by the keeper’s foot but Josh Ford was on hand to put away the loose ball. Thirty seconds after play restarted, Frew turned provider in more deliberate fashion as he picked out Alex Beck at the far post with a low cross for the fourth, ensuring Setchell’s second stint in the hotseat got off to a winning start.
