Norwich City goalkeeping coach Tommy Wright is the red hot favourite to take over the managerial reins at Glenavon.

The Irish Premier League side sacked head coach Stephen McBride and director of football Alan Fraser yesterday, after a 2-1 defeat to Coleraine on Tuesday left the Lurgan Blues bottom of the table.

Wright was manager of fellow Premier League side Ballymena before leaving to join up with Glenn Roeder's coaching staff in the summer.

However, with Roeder now departed from Carrow Road - along with his backroom staff of Adam Sadler and Paul Stephenson - Wright, 44, may be tempted to follow suit, especially with the offer to get back into management.
