Wroxham will do battle with FA Vase rivals Armthorpe Welfare again next weekend - this time at home - after a cracking game went to extra time but remained level.

It was one goal apiece on a mudbath of a Yorkshire pitch and the replay will be at Trafford Park on Saturday (3pm).

Wroxham manager David Batch said: “We're still in it. It was a really entertaining game to watch - the best game I have seen all season, with end-to-end chances. It would have been harsh to either team to go out.

“I think the chances we created were better. We had a goal disallowed from a corner for an infringement - don't know where that came from.”

He added: “We played ok but I think we can play a lot better. I will be hoping we can up our game for next Saturday and approach it differently.”

Both keepers shone - Scott Howie for Wroxham and the hosts' James Green.

Armthorpe opened the scoring through Paul Ashton on 16 minutes and the Yachtsmen levelled six minutes later thanks to Gareth Simpson.

In the second half keeper Howie made some excellent saves so the tie went into extra time. Armthorpe hit a post and Wroxham had good efforts through Paul Cooke, twice, and Matty Daniels but the match deservedly finished 1-1.
