An emotional Wroxham Reserves team boss Mark Wilkinson could hardly describe his jubilation following the young Yachtsmen's clinching of the Sterry Cup with a barnstorming 6-0 performance at Dersingham.
“Many of these lads are teenagers but game after game they produced mature performances displaying total commitment, 100 per cent effort and superb skills combined with that most important ingredient of all - team spirit,” declared Wilkinson, as he and his men celebrated with swigs of champagne parked in a lay-by off the A47 during the team's triumphant return.
“It has been an enormous pleasure to work with these young men with one or two more experienced players for they won the championship in style to bring the Sterry Cup back to Wroxham for the first time in 13 years.”
