Wroxham, who gave nine of their youth players a chance to show their mettle, produced all the tricky football while Histon won last night's game by converting three of their four chances.

The visitors' danger man was Carl Hammond, who, after having one goal ruled out for offside, put the Cambridgeshire team in the lead in the 24th minute with a low shot that crept under Woodcock's body and into the net.

If there was a whiff of offside about that goal, his second in the 60th minute against the run of play was a decisive strike. And although the young Yachtsmen played well enough until they reached the penalty area, it was Histon's second string securing all three points and survival in the Ridgeons League Premier Division with a third goal from Nat Knight-Percival.
