What a football club!

Not many fans would take 9,000 fans on a 100-plus miles round trip on a Wednesday night in hope rather than expectation.

Norwich City did.

Not many clubs would be bottom of the league but still out-sing a strong home crowd of a Champions League final team.

Norwich City did.

Ben Godfrey said before the match that the Norwich fans needed to bring the noise, and oh boy did they! It's also easy to remember these tickets were not cheap; this was not during a school holiday but still the supporters snapped up the tickets and the club could've easily sold more.

Going into extra time players like Todd Cantwell, Max Aarons and Jamal Lewis were visibly struggling fitness wise after putting in such a monumental shift but that's where the fans came in. For those last 30 minutes all you could hear was Norwich City fans pushing their side to penalties.

Looking at those players mentioned it worked - not one player went down with cramp as the adrenaline of the crowd combined with their magnificent fitness work (thanks to Chris Domogalla) saw them through to the lottery of a penalty shoot-out.

Before the shoot-out Tim Krul gave another fist pump up to the fans and again, whilst the Spurs fans sat nervously before their respective penalty takers stepped up all you could hear in the stadium was "Timmy, Timmy Krul".

As well as our shot-stopper being an incredible penalty saver the away fans made it as hostile as possible for the Spurs penalty takers - and it worked, Spurs missed three of their five spot kicks to send Norwich through to the FA Cup quarter-finals for the first time since 1992... magical.

The fact that the first thing that came into Krul's mind at the end was to run to the fantastic vocal support at the other end of the pitch pays testament to the brilliant noise from the 9,000 contingent. Long may this bond between the fans, the players and the club in general continue - and, who knows, we might be able to have another fairy tale at Wembley!
