Lowestoft Town boss Ady Gallagher has warned his players against any complacency ahead of their home clash against Kingstonian this afternoon.

The Trawlerboys go into the game on the back of a superb 5-0 away win at Burgess Hill Town as Jake Reed and Co. ran riot in Sussex.

Today’s opponents were humbled 5-1 by Burgess Hill earlier this month but Gallagher insists there can be no let-up in standards if they are to continue their recent form, which has seen them lose just one of their last five games.

“I know the way football works – they (Burgess Hill) beat Kingstonian 5-1 the week before and were then brought back down to earth by us on Saturday.

“It’s a reminder that a bump in the road can be just round the corner and we’ve got to be very aware of that.

“We’ve still got some players out – but we need to try and reach that performance level again.”

Lowestoft’s five-star performance last weekend demonstrated that after a summer of immense change to the squad that things could be coming together.

“It was the perfect away performance for us,” admitted Gallagher. “The way we defended, the attitude, the contribution everyone made, were all spot on.

“We showed great determination to keep a clean sheet and that pleased me as much as the five goals.

“It’s good to see that when we do take chances that we still had that determination to keep them out at the other end.”

Shaun Bammant and Callum White will have late fitness tests but Gallagher will be tempted to name an unchanged XI at the Amber Dew Events Stadium today.

Rossi Jarvis and Ollie Humphreys are long-term absentees whilst Andrew Fisk is still two or three weeks away from resuming full training.

“We’ve got a lot more strength this season,” said Gallagher. “We’re still stretched but last season we wouldn’t have been able to cope as well with the injuries we have had so far.

“It’s a difficult one on whether to change the side or not. It’s something myself and Brooksy (assistant manager Dale Brooks) will be thinking long and hard about.”
